Your Data, Set Out Clearly
What gets collected, the reasons behind it, and how much control stays with you.
Last updated: June 2026
Body composition data sits in a more sensitive category than most other data, so this page spells out exactly what Hume Health Corp gathers through humebodypod.uk and the Hume Health app, what becomes of it afterwards, and the choices you have as a UK customer.
1. What Gets Collected
Straight from you
- Standard details โ name, email, delivery address, payment information โ supplied when you order or register an account.
- Whatever you share with us when contacting support.
From the scanner and app
- Body composition scan data โ weight, body fat, muscle mass, visceral fat, bone mass, body water, and segmental readings โ that drives the markers displayed in the app.
- Standard technical information โ device model, app version, general usage patterns โ that helps keep the service reliable.
2. What We Use It For
- Converting raw scanner data into the trends and insight shown inside the app.
- Processing and shipping your order, plus handling any return or warranty claim.
- Responding when you get in touch with support.
- Improving our sensors and algorithms over time, generally using data that's been aggregated or stripped of identifying detail.
- Sending order-related communications, and โ only where you've opted in โ the occasional product update.
3. It Remains Your Data
Your body composition history is yours to control. Export it from the Hume Health app whenever suits you, and if you'd rather your account and everything in it was deleted, contact support โ deletion requests are actioned within 30 days, aside from records we're legally required to hold (order history for tax purposes, for instance).
4. Where It Gets Shared
Body composition data is never sold. It's disclosed only in a small number of defined situations:
- Operational vendors โ payment processors, courier partners, cloud hosting providers โ bound by contracts that restrict what they can do with it.
- Legal requirements, where disclosure is compelled under law, regulation, or a valid legal request.
- A business sale or merger, should one occur, under the same privacy commitments outlined here.
5. How It's Kept Safe
Data in transit and at rest is encrypted to industry-standard methods, and internal access is restricted to people who genuinely need it for their role. Nothing is entirely bulletproof, but given the nature of health data, we treat this with real care.
6. Cookies
The site uses cookies to remember preferences, keep you signed in, and get a general sense of how the site's being used. You can turn these off in your browser, though some parts of the site may work less smoothly without them.
7. Your Rights
As a UK resident, UK GDPR gives you rights to access, correct, export, or delete your data, and you can opt out of marketing emails at any point via the unsubscribe link they include. Use the contact details below to exercise any of this.
8. Children
We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13, and the Services aren't designed with children as an audience. If you believe a child has shared data with us, let us know and we'll remove it promptly.
9. Cross-Border Transfers
If you're accessing our Services from outside the UK, or where our service providers operate internationally, your data may be processed across borders. We work to keep protections aligned with this Policy regardless of where that processing happens.
10. Changes To This Policy
This page is revised from time to time, reflected in the date shown at the top. For anything significant, we'll flag it more directly โ through an in-app notice or an email, for example.
